What we install, and how we handle it
Every material has its own paste, its own seam and its own way to go wrong. We follow the manufacturer's instructions for each one, and we ask when they are unclear.
Grasscloth and naturals
Grasscloth, sisal, jute, cork and paperweaves. Color shifts panel to panel by nature, so we sequence strips before hanging.
Silk and textiles
Paper-backed silks, linens and fabric wallcoverings. Clean hands, clean tools and no paste on the face.
Murals and hand-painted panels
Digital murals, scenic panels and hand-painted papers. Panel layout confirmed with the designer on the wall before we start.
Traditional and pre-trimmed papers
Block prints, screen prints and untrimmed papers, including hand trimming when the mill requires it.
Non-woven and vinyl
Paste-the-wall non-wovens and commercial-grade vinyls for baths, kitchens and high-traffic rooms.
Metallics and foils
Mylar, foil and mica finishes over a Level 5 smooth wall. Reflective papers show every flaw beneath them.
Material policy
- Order ten to fifteen percent overage, all from one dye lot. Patterned and large-repeat papers may need more; we confirm the count in writing.
- Material is delivered to the site at least three days before the install so it can acclimate.
- Every roll is inspected and photographed before the first cut. Run and batch numbers are recorded.
- If a roll is damaged, off-shade or misprinted, we stop and call. Manufacturer defects and dye-lot variation are the mill's responsibility, not a reason to keep hanging.
- Leftover rolls stay with the client, labeled, for future repairs.
